1) What is the appeal of time-lapse for you and your clients?
A time-lapse is an interesting, fast way to see a change in something, in real time either in construction or movement. In modern cities and in modern time things happen quickly. Modern people like to see what they want to see. They don’t have the time or patience to see long videos. In a time-lapse you can see a building being constructed, the growth of a plant or flower, the movement of the clouds, any process that takes hours you can see it in minutes. Time-lapse is also useful in editing or transition in a video.

Recently Brinno’s Time Lapse Cameras have been gaining recognition and popularity among film industry professionals. San Andreas is a 2015 American disaster film directed by Brad Peyton. It has a great cast and outstanding special effects. The photographer, Jacinta Leong, found an incredible opportunity to document her work by using the Brinno BCC200 as well as sharing it with the world.
Jacinta Leong is a freelancing feature film art director. In addition, she is known for such films as ‘The Matrix’, ‘Star Wars Movies’, ‘The Great Gatsby’, and of course ‘San Andreas’. She filmed the “San Andreas Movie – Set Construction Time Lapse” for documentation of her crew’s beautifully done creation and bring it on YouTube.
The Consumer Electronics Show (CES2017)
The beginning of the year started off with a bang and we have CES2017 (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas to thank for that!
From January 5th-8th we all spent our days in the Las Vegas Convention Center meeting with customers, giving interviews, talking to retailers and to anyone who has heard (or never heard of) Brinno time-lapse cameras.
There was a lot of explaining what the cameras do, demonstrations, and business deals done.
The Consumer Electronics Show is an annual event in Las Vegas that brings together the world of tech, startups and anything you can think of that is futuristic including drones, 8K Televisions, 3D Printing, Health, Appliances absolutely everything along with hundreds of thousands of people.
This is the event that retailers and consumers look forward to because it anticipates what the public will want in the future. Brinno, as a company has been attending this show for many years and it is one of the highlights of the year for tech companies eager to announce new products to consumers.
This year the big focus by us was on our Construction Camera bundles, the BCC100 and BCC200.
The BCC100 has excellent battery life and is well suited for long-term outdoor projects, comes with waterproof housing and a sturdy clamp.
The BCC200 is for some one (or professionals) that want to take their projects to the next level. It also comes with weather proof housing, excellent outdoors with outstanding low light resolution. It also comes with a clamp that any photo enthusiast would love to get their hands on! This camera is currently the #1 choice for commercial videographers in the construction industry. No battery life on any camera (with this price point) even comes close.
The video above from Abavala is just one of the many clips we will be sharing with you in the near future!
Until then remember Brinno #MakesTimeLapseEasy!
People always ask “What are your favorite time-lapse videos made with Brinno Cameras?” As the Social Media Manager for three years I think i’ve seen them all (probably multiple times!) and I do have some favorites. So this is a compilation of some of the most popular time-lapse cameras made with various/multiple Brinno Cameras.
The BCC100 Construction Camera operates on long-lasting batteries. 4 AA batteries can last up to 4 months. You never need to worry about finding a power outlet! Put away that DSLR and pick up the most important thing you can use to show your clients progression, value and the quality of your work. Here are three of the best that represent those year long commercial projects.
Josh Banks made an excellent time-lapse video in his hometown of Rochester, Minnesota for Rochester Public Utilities. This was his first video and was a five month project. His second effort was a McDonald’s Restaurant build from beginning to end.
The TLC200 Pro HDR Time Lapse Video Camera performs time-lapse photography and instantly creates HD videos at 1280 x 720 resolution from the captured still images. No stitching or other post-processing is required. Choose a time interval of 0.3 sec or select one of many intervals from 1 sec – 24 hr to see change over time, whether you’re recording events, projects or the natural world. There’s also a setting for shooting 3-5 photos in 1 sec. Videos are compressed into smaller files for easy playback on smart devices.
There are so many great time-lapse moments that have been captured with these cameras!
This video is of the largest continuous mat foundation pour in the history of Philadelphia and was captured on July 10, 2016 by a team led by Tutor Perini. The timelapsing of the project was of the W/Element Hotel currently scheduled to open in 2017.
We have two videos from Abu Wei who somehow manages to capture the beauty of Taiwan and the opening of a Cactus Flower with ease. Who knew that time-lapse video would be an easy, inexpensive way to be creative with video?
There are so many others including THIS our most popular video (to date.) I will be adding more posts like this to showcase all of the wonderful creativity that I see with our cameras.
The ART200 Rotating Camera Base makes panlapse easy! It can be used with our cameras, a gopro, smartphone of 4/3 camera.
TimeLAX is two brothers obsessed with time-lapse video, pushing boundaries and layering the ir footage to create stunning videos. We are so lucky that they found the ART200 and decided to use it in their latest video on California’s Silicon Beaches.
There you have it! A few of our favorites, lots we didn’t have room to add and hoping that our amazing contributors continue to create smart, fun and interesting time-lapse videos.
